Interior Designer
BCDO
Benny Cheng Design Office (BCDO) was established as an independent studio in 2014. Benny, who formerly co-directed Designation since 2003, has his own design studio now at BCDO. He leads a team of dedicated designers in his Singapore office that works with a clear principle – the creation of a successful, well-balanced design involves a collaborative process. The many years of interior design experience have taught BCDO that the best solutions evolve from discussion as much as analysis and creative interpretation.
Benny studied interior architecture at RMIT in Australia, graduating with honours in 1997. He previously formed the interior design practice space_craft with Arc Studio Architecture – Urbanism. There he worked on a modular system for the winning scheme in the 2001 in the international design competition for the Pinnacle at Duxton.
BCDO strongly believes that the latest residential project development of the ever competitive market should encompass an understated unique form of aesthetic appeal. We are indeed pleased to have been presented a brief that encapsulates the notions of nature, texture and warmth as opposed to opposed to luxurious, glittery materials and frivolous elements.
Looking around the region of present Singapore, one can hardly distinguish or set apart the saturation of developed properties available. The world, we predict will likely not embrace hard polished materials as a sense of luxury but rather be perceiving space and volume in greater values. Clean, relevant forms will slowly but surely overwrite decorative elements. Light and natural textures, create depth, feel and warmth. These elements evoke the very same qualities that we consider relevant, modern and yet welcoming and refreshing in the interior design aspects of the 8 Dyson Road development.
